In the most epic Game of Thrones episode of all time, The Night King was finally defeated by the Westeros’ Mightiest Heroes.
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR SEASON 8, EPISODE 3 OF ‘GAME OF THRONES’ WILL FOLLOW.
After a majority of the episode is spent showing the Army of the Dead kicking the Living’s ass, our Game of Thrones heroes were able to save the day with a last-ditch effort from one of the show’s smallest heroes.
Arya Stark kills the Night King, as she’s able to get near him by wearing the face of a White Walker. As the Night King approaches Bran, Arya leaps from behind and lunges at the Night King to kill him.
The Night King reacts and grabs Arya by the throat and the arm, however, Arya is able to switch the dagger into her other hand like she did when she fought Brienne of Tarth in season seven, and stabs the Night King, killing all of the dead in the process.
As for how Arya obtained the face of a White Walker, Game of Thrones elected not to show that scene.
