John Earnest, 19-years-old, has been identified as the suspect arrested in connection with today’s shooting at the Chabad of Poway Synagogue in California.
One female victim has reportedly died as a result of the shooting. In addition to the deceased, four other people were injured in the shooting.
What Happened at the Chabad of Poway Synagogue?
The shooting reportedly began at 11:23 a.m. local time. Earnest was reportedly stopped by armed civilians.

The victims have been identified as Rabbi Yisorel Goldstein, an adult male, an adult woman, and a young child. Rabbi Goldstein founded the Chabad of Poway Synagogue center in the year 1986.
Police say the shooting began around 11:30 a.m. PST as worshippers were in the synagogue to celebrate the last day of Passover.
Earnest, who was reportedly armed with a tactical helmet and a tactical vest, has been arrested by authorities.
At the time of this writing, the victims who remain alive are reportedly in critical condition.

The Aftermath
President Donald Trump has yet to tweet a statement about the shooting at the time of this writing.
In a statement, Senator Kamala Harris said she was “disturbed” by the reports of the shooting.
“I am disturbed by reports of a shooting at the Chabad of Poway synagogue and am closely monitoring the situation,” Sen. Harris said in an official statement.
The mass shooting at the Chabad of Poway Synagogue comes exactly six months after 11 people were killed in the Pittsburgh Tree of Life synagogue shooting on October 27, 2018.
