Police Respond To Reports Of An "Armed Person" At Hialeah Senior High in Florida

Hialeah Senior High School in Florida on lockdown after reports of a person armed with a gun. The call came in around 10:30 a.m. local time.
Police have since clarified that the reports of a weapon being on campus are unconfirmed and are just a rumor at this time. However, police are taking the reports seriously, resulting in the school being locked down.
There is a heavy police presence on the scene to investigate the reports of suspicious activity. The Miami-Dade Schools Police is also investigating the reports of an armed person.
A Hialeah Senior High student who is reportedly inside the school said in a tweet that there is a helicopter on the scene.
At this time, police have not given any indication that any students or staff at Hialeah Senior High School are in any danger.
In addition to police, various TV and news crews are also on the scene providing coverage.


Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities have been reported at this time.
Hialeah Senior High School, located at 251 E 47th St in Hialeah, Florida, is a public high school that serves grades 9 through 12.
Opened in September 1954, Hialeah Senior High School was home to notable athletes such as MLB pitcher Gio Gonzalez (Washington Nationals) and NFL offensive lineman Corey Liuget (Los Angeles Chargers).
