It was the Virginia men’s basketball team who closed out the 2019 NCAA Tournament with their “One Shining Moment.” For the first time in program history, the Cavaliers were able to come away as national champions. Considering Tony Bennett’s squad suffered an embarrassing victory as the No. 1 overall seed a year ago to No. 16 seed UMBC, the taste of victory was extra sweet.
Virginia needed overtime to get past the No. 3 Texas Tech Red Raiders at U.S. Bank Stadium on Monday, April 8, with the final scoreboard reading 85-77.
And, of course, with March Madness now over, it is time for the traditional end-of-tournament “One Shining Moment” highlight video that allows us to relive the highs and the lows of the NCAA Tournament.
Tournament standouts Zion Williamson, Murray State’s Ja Morant, and newly-crowned national champion Kyle Guy are heavily featured, along with Virginia’s close calls against Purdue and Auburn, along with Duke’s epic clashes against UCF and Michigan State.
