WVU Campus Shooting: Full Story of “Shots Fired” Reports

The Morgantown police department is responding to report of “shots fired” in the area of College Ave and Falling Run.

Police have asked citizens to stay clear of the area until further notice. Additionally, police have closed roads nearby while they respond to the scene. Witnesses say there is a “heavy” police presence on the scene.

The Morgantown Police Department released the following alert on Twitter, urging civilians to avoid the scene.

Report of Shots Fired in the Area of College Ave/ Falling Run Please avoid the area.

“We are responding to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of College Avenue and Falling Run Road. Citizens are asked to stay clear of this area until further notice. Information will be updated as available,” the tweet read.

At this time, there is no word on any injuries, fatalities, or suspects. Both the Morgantown Police Department and the West Virginia Univesity police department responded to the scene.

The university said they were still working to gather information about the situation. Twitter user James Knable tweeted a video of the scene, saying that “things have calmed down” at the scene.

At this time, classes are scheduled to continue as normal.
