Atlanta rapper T.I. is back in the headlines and this time it is over his long-standing feud with boxing star Floyd Mayweather Jr. The rapper is one of many who called for a boycott of the luxury brand Gucci after the company received backlash over a sweater that resembled blackface.
The company apologized, but many prominent figures called for the boycott.
Floyd Mayweather, however, was not on board.
Mayweather was asked whether he would boycott the brand when he brushed off the situation and made it seem like it was not his issue while flexing about his wealth.
“You know when everybody else they say, ‘Everybody gonna boycott?’ I say guess what, this boy gonna get on a yacht and live life,” Mayweather told TMZ. “We all know racism still exists but that’s not gonna stop my drive. I’ve got friends from all walks of life and to me of course, black lives matter first … but my thing is this, I’m gonna continue to go out there live life and be happy.”
That apparently did not sit well with T.I., who decided to drop a diss track “F*ck N***a” on Thursday, February 14 aimed at the rapper.
“I don’t give a fuck how much money you have / What did you do with it? How did you use it to make an impact and influence the wealth for the better? / You rather go buy jewlery, whatever,” Tip raps. “All of them profits…how many scholarships? How many properties did you donate to the people in poverty?”
Here is a preview of the track:
