WATCH: ‘Aladdin’ Official Trailer #1 (VIDEO)

Disney dropped the first full-length trailer for Aladdin, their latest live-action venture, during the 61st annual Grammy Awards.

Aladdin, which was directed by Guy Ritchie (known for films such as Sherlock Holmes and Snatch) will star Mena Massoud as the titular Aladdin alongside Will Smith as the Genie originally made iconic by the late, great Robin Williams.

In addition to Massoud and Smith, Aladdin will star Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen, and Numan Acar.

Disney originally released a teaser trailer for the film back in October, however, that clip didn’t feature many of the characters, particularly Will Smith’s Genie:

While filling the shoes of Robin Williams is an utterly massive and almost impossible task, if anyone can do it, it’s Will Smith, who is among the five or six most-liked and charismatic entertainers on Earth.

Disney’s Aladdin is just their latest of their live-action remakes, which kicked off with 2010’s Alice in Wonderland.

Since 2010, Disney has been regularly churning out live-action remakes of their animated classics such as Maleficent, Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Beauty and the Beast, and Christopher Robin.

In the years to come, Disney will not only be releasing Aladdin, but also star-studded remakes of Dumbo, The Lion King, Lady and the Tramp, Mulan, Maleficent II, Cruella, Pinocchio, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lilo & Stitch, and The Little Mermaid.

Disney’s Aladdin is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on May 24, 2019.
