Grammys Voting Process

The nominees and the eventual winners of the Grammys are chosen by The Academy voting members. These members are made up of different people who are all involved in the creative and technical processes of recording. They nominate those who they believe deserve the coveted award in each category.
First, there is a screening of all the latest albums, singles, and artists for the past year. From that screening, they begin to vote for nominations. The Academy has stated that to “ensure the quality of the voting, members are directed to vote only in their areas of expertise; they may vote in up to 15 categories in the genre fields plus the four categories of the General Field (Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist.)”
After the nominees are finalized by several national nomination review committees, the names of those artists are released and the final voting can begin. Once the final votes are in, no one knows who will win these Awards. The winners will be revealed on stage during the event.

Fan Vote

The Grammy Voting process is not up to the audience. In the past, there were websites such as Fuse who would have an online poll so fans could vote for who they believe should win. However this year, Fuse is not doing a fan vote. You can still check out the results of last years, 60th Grammy Awards.
