Thee years later, in 1975, Stone was influential in founding the National Conservative Political Action Committee.
In 1976, Stone began working for the Ronald Reagan campaign and in 1977, he became the president of the conservative organizations Young Republicans.


In the year 1980, Stone co-founded the political consulting and lobbying firm Black, Manafort & Stone alongside convicted criminal Paul Manafort and Charlie Black.
In 1981, Stone served as the chief strategist for Thomas Kean’s campaign for New Jersey governor.
In 1987, Stone served as a senior adviser to Jack Kemp’s presidential campaign.
