Stone, born on August 27, 1952, in Norwalk, Connecticut, briefly attended George Washington University in Washington D.C. before dropping out to work for Richard Nixon’s Committee to Re-elect the President.

Stone’s political career kicked off in 1972 when he worked for the Richard Nixon campaign.
Thee years later, in 1975, Stone was influential in founding the National Conservative Political Action Committee.
In 1976, Stone began working for the Ronald Reagan campaign and in 1977, he became the president of the conservative organizations Young Republicans.
1980-1999
In the year 1980, Stone co-founded the political consulting and lobbying firm Black, Manafort & Stone alongside convicted criminal Paul Manafort and Charlie Black.
In 1981, Stone served as the chief strategist for Thomas Kean’s campaign for New Jersey governor.
In 1987, Stone served as a senior adviser to Jack Kemp’s presidential campaign.
In 1996, Stone was the president of Republican Senator Arlen Specter’s 1996 Presidential campaign before going on to work for the Bob Dole campaign.
Also in 1996, Stone resigned from his position as a consultant to Senator Bob Dole’s presidential campaign after a report came out that Stone and his wife Nydia Bertran Stone had placed advertisements in swingers’ publications and a website seeking sexual partners. While Stone initially denied the report and claimed that the ads were put up by a “domestic employee.” Stone later admitted that the ads were authentic.
2000-Present
In the year 2000, Stone was campaign manager for Donald Trump’s short-lived presidential campaign in the Reform Party primary.
In 2016, Stone served as an advisor to the 2016 campaign of eventual President Donald Trump.
In 2017, Netflix released a documentary about Roger Stone’s political career and role in the Trump campaign titled Get Me Roger Stone.
On Friday, January 25, Stone was arrested and charged with one count of obstruction, one count of witness tampering, and five counts of false statements.
