Notre Dame vs. Clemson officially kicks off the College Football Playoff on Saturday, December 29 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. The clash between the No. 3 Fighting Irish and No. 2 Tigers marks the first time in the history of the College Football Playoff that two undefeated teams have met in the semifinal.
The Tigers will be without star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, who is serving a suspension for a failed drug test, so Notre Dame will have to take advantage of his absence in order to light up the scoreboard.
If they fail to do so, any chance at reaching the national championship game will fall on the shoulders of the Fighting Irish defense, because Clemson freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence and star sophomore running back Travis Etienne are virtually unstoppable.
The College Football Playoff National Championship Game will take place Monday, January 7, 2019 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
