Tiger Woods 2019 Schedule: Golfer's Rumored Start Date For New Year

Tiger Woods’ 2019 schedule is beginning to take shape. According to a report from ESPN.com, Woods will be skipping out on the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii from January 3 – 9, despite qualifying back in September.
Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy are all expected to compete in Hawaii, however.
Instead, it appears that 14-time major tournament winner will be beginning his new year on January 24, at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
Woods previously said that he would not be competing in as many tournaments in 2019 as he did a year ago.
“I’m not going to play as many as I did this year,” Woods said in the Bahamas. “I played in too many this year, and that was from adding an event because I missed the cut at [the Genesis Open] to qualifying to get into Akron [the Bridgestone Invitational]. Who knew that I could make it through all the playoff events? So all those events took a toll. I won’t be playing as much as I did [in 2018].”

Woods is reportedly hoping to spend more time with his family this year.
During the 2018 season, Woods had an impressive season after returning from spinal fusion surgery. Woods had seven top 10 finishes and a win in The Tour Championship.
The Sentry Tournament of Champions takes place at Kapalua Resort Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii. The tournament is reserved for golfers who won a tournament the previous year. The defending champion is Dustin Johnson, a two-time winner of the tournament.
