There are two types of people in the world: people who accept, appreciate, and understand that Seinfeld is the greatest show of all-time … and then there are morons.
Look, to each their own and yada yada yada (another killer Seinfeld reference), but frankly, anyone who says that they enjoy Friends more than Seinfeld needs to get their head checked.
The fact is that Seinfeld — even to this day — was miles and miles ahead of its competition with their humor, particularly, the notion that the main characters weren’t necessarily good people. That idea has since been adopted by shows such as It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, which has been on the air for over 13 years now.
But for all of the show’s inherent hilarity, arguably the funniest part of the sitcom was the character’s daily conundrums. Jerry’s new girlfriend snores too loud. Elaine’s new boss hits on her every day during lunch. Kramer’s friend Bob Sacamano is investing in the dry-cleaning business. George’s father celebrates Festivus … which always raised an interesting question … what ethnicity is George’s family? Are they Jewish? Are they Italian?
Well, according to Jerry Stiller (Ben Stiller’s father) — the actor who played Frank Constanza — he had no idea whether the family was supposed to be Jewish or Italian.

“It was never really clear if the Costanzas were Jewish or Italian or what they were,” Stiller said in the statement. “Jason, Estelle and I were given the name Costanza, which sounds Italian, but there were episodes where I cooked Jewish food and ate knishes and kasha varnishkes in bed. When people asked me about this I would simply say it was because we were a Jewish family in the Witness Protection Program.”
This isn’t the only interesting Seinfeld tidbit to come out in recent months, as Larry David recently admitted that he threatened to quit the classic sitcom if NBC execs did not air the legendary masturbation episode, “The Contest”.
