Police ask everyone to stay away from New York St. and Blackford St. as they investigate a suspicious package near the IUPUI campus. The university altered student and staff with an official university alert.
According to IUPUI, New York Street was closed from West Street to University Boulevard as they investigated. At the time, police asked everyone to seek an alternate route.
At 9:14 a.m., IUPUI tweeted that “the situation at the Herron Art School has been resolved without incident” and that students should “resume normal routine.”

The reports of a suspicious package being found at the IUPUI campus is just the latest in a string of suspicious packages, bomb threats, lockdowns, and school shootings that have plagued the United States.
