Marvel’s Daredevil — their original and most successful Netflix series to date (RIP, Iron Fist and The Defenders) — returns tonight for its third thrilling season. The first season of Daredevil originally aired on April 10, 2015.
While the Charlie Cox’s Daredevil character appeared in The Defenders, the second season of his own series dropped on March 18, 2016, making it over two-years since Matt Murdock and his alter ego were in the spotlight.
Season three, which has been described by critics as “darker” than previous seasons, sees Vincent D’Onofrio’s villainous gangster Wilson Fisk released from prison. Due to Fisk’s freedom, Matt Murdock must decide between hiding from the world or embracing his life as a hero vigilante.
In addition to Cox and D’Onofrio, the third season of Daredevil stars Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Wilson Bethel and Jay Ali.
The third season, which began filming on November 13, 2017, in New York City, will consist of 13 episodes and reportedly adapt elements from Daredevil’s seminal “Born Again” storyline.

Daredevil Season 3 Reviews
Rotten Tomatoes (89%): “The Man with No Fear returns to top form with a third season that begins tediously slow but gradually generates comic book thrills, immeasurably helped by the welcome return of Vincent D’Onofrio’s menacing Kingpin.”
TV Guide: “Unlike the previous two seasons, Season 3 minimizes Matt and his moral dilemmas to make more room for what is truly one of Marvel’s best supporting casts.”
Observer: “There’s a linear flow to it all that is focused and efficient. That doesn’t mean the show couldn’t lose steam like so many other promising yet still flawed Marvel series on Netflix. But so far, so good.”
