The Atlanta Police Department is working an active incident at Greenbriar Mall after threats of a possible shooting incident. They have asked for citizens to please avoid the area until further notice.
According to reports, the mall received “several” threats today, including one about a possible shooting. Two nearby schools were placed on lockdown as a result.
An investigation is currently underway, as both police and emergency responders were spotted on the scene. At this time, there is no word on any injuries, fatalities, or suspects.
The threat happened without any incident.

According to local WSB-TV reporter Rikki Klaus, an Atlanta Police officer on the scene is squatting behind a patrol car with his gun drawn while wearing a helmet. Klaus also reports that there is a helicopter on the scene.

The active shooting threat reports at Greenbriar Mall is the is just the latest in a string of lockdowns, bomb threats, and shootings that have plagued the United States.
