Kyle Pavone, singer for the band We Came As Romans, has died. The band announced the singer’s death on Saturday, Aug. 25, with a statement on social media. Pavone was just 28 years old.
“Today, music lost another great with the passing of Kyle Pavone of We Came As Romans,” their statement read. “Kyle’s tragic loss came too early in his life and those of his bandmates. All are devastated by his passing. We will miss his smiles, his sincerity, his concern for others, and his impressive musical talent.
“The family and the band wish to thank their fans and the music community for all of their love and support as they navigate their grief.”

Pavone died of an accidental overdose, the band announced in a press release. In honor of Pavone, The Kyle Pavone Foundation has been started with the hope of helping anyone who is struggling.

Pavone had been with the metalcore band since 2008. We Came as Romans was set to go on tour next month with Bullet for My Valentine. Rather than flowers, the band asks its fans to donate to charities and they will reveal a list of charities you can donate to honor Pavone later this week.
