National Intern Day is here again! For 2018, it falls on Thursday, July 26. So, if you are an intern, employ an intern, work with interns or simply know an intern, then make sure to get ready! Created by WayUp, the holiday is meant to inspire employers to celebrate their interns for their hard work and their contributions to their teams. While admitting that there is really no “right” way of celebrating National Intern Day, the official National Intern Day website gives a list of ideas on how to indulge the interns in your life: buying them breakfast, hosting a free happy hour for them, letting them come into work late or in casual clothing, buying them little desk plants, throwing them a pizza party, hosting a scavenger event, hosting an ice cream bar and, finally, bringing them coffee instead of the other way around! The final suggestion is, of course, simply offering them a paid, full-time job, but we all know that it is meant to be tongue-in-cheek, even if it would be a nice thing to do.
The website also allows you to nominate and vote for the top interns of 2018! The deadline is July 30, 2018 and winners are announced on August 6, 2018. Just make sure to read the rules, including who is eligible, and vote here!
