While fans of Better Call Saul have long been able to appreciate the show on its own — in fact, some people (not me) argue that it’s better than it’s predecessor — we’ve always been quietly, patiently waiting for the show to cross over into Breaking Bad‘s timeline.
Yes, the origin story of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman has been wildly fascinating in and of itself, but there’s no denying that the potential of diving directly back into the Breaking Bad universe is a tantalizing one.
So far, the first three seasons of Better Call Saul has included characters such as Mike, Gus, Tuco, and others, however, iconic characters such has Hank, Jesse Pinkman, and Walter White have yet to be seen.
And according to Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, this season may finally be the year the Pinkmans and Whites of the Breaking Bad universe are reintroduced.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Better Call Saul‘s upcoming fourth season will feature scenes that take place in the same timeline as Breaking Bad. How do they know? Because Gilligan told them:
“We have a subplot that very squarely gets into Breaking Badterritory and brings us into the world — or at least points us on a path toward the world of Walter White and the territory of Walter White,” co-creator Vince Gilligan tells EW. “I can’t wait for folks to see that.”
Better Call Saul, a spin-off and prequel to the legendary AMC hit Breaking Bad, will return for its fourth season on Monday, August 6, at 9 p.m. EST.
