Jamie Foxx is an American actor, singer, songwriter, producer, and comedian. Foxx is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Ray Charles in Ray, which earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor, BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
In addition to his wins for Ray, Foxx was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the crime film Collateral.
Foxx also has a very successful music career. Foxx, a Grammy Award-winning artist, has produced five albums, four of which that have reached the top ten of the US Billboard 200: Unpredictable in 2005, Intuition in 2008, Best Night of My Life in 2010, and Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses in 2015.

Early Life
Jamie Foxx — real name Eric Marlon Bishop — was born in Terrell, Texas on December 13, 1967. Foxx began playing the piano when he was five-years-old.
Foxx graduated from Terrell High School before attending the United States International University, where he studied classical music and composition.

Foxx joined the cast of In Living Color in 1991 before landing a recurring role in the comedy-drama sitcom Roc. He made his feature film debut in the 1992 comedy Toys.
In 1994, Foxx released an album entitled Peep This.
His first dramatic film role came in the 1999 football film Any Given Sunday. In 2001, Foxx starred in the Muhammad Ali biopic Ali alongside Will Smith.

In 2003, Foxx featured on the song “Slow Jamz” with Kanye West.

Also in 2004, Foxx portrayed Ray Charles in the biographical film Ray. For his performance, he won the Academy Award for Best Actor, making him the second African American to do so after Denzel Washington.
