With Game Of Thrones eighth and final season still being about a year away, fans of the hit HBO fantasy drama are looking to latch onto and discuss any piece of information they can find, even if that “information” is simply a tattoo that one of the cast members got.
Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, recently got some GOT-inspired ink, getting House Stark’s direwolf and “the pack survives” tattooed on her forearm.
Now, while most level-headed people can chalk this up to an actress getting a tattoo to remind her of the character that changed her life, rabid Game Of Thrones fans were determined to attach deeper meaning to the tat.
The tattoo is a reference to a famous Ned Stark quote from Season 7, “the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.”
Following the reveal of the tattoo, social media drove itself nuts trying to decipher the meaning behind Turner’s new tattoo. Does Sansa die? Do all the Starks except Sansa die? Do they all die?!
Well, maybe, but according to Sophie, her tattoo has nothing to do with that:
“It’s the direwolf from Game of Thrones and it says ‘The pack survives. Actually, when I was getting it done people advised me not to because it looked like I was giving everything away. But I wasn’t! It’s just a quote from last season, but everyone figures that the pack really does survive. But it’s just a moral I like to live by,” Turner said on The Late Late Show With James Corden.

Turner’s Sansa heads into the final season as the Lady of Winterfell, putting her in charge of one of the first lines of defense against the incoming White Walker army.
Game Of Thrones eighth and final season is expected to premiere sometime during Spring 2019. The season will consist of six episodes and will bring the most successful television show of all-time to a close.
