Johnathan Aiken Cause Of Death: How Did Ex-Rutgers Football Player Die?

Former Rutgers football player Johnathan Aiken passed away early Friday morning in Fort Lauderdale, according to Local10.com in Florida. Aiken, who was just 26 years old, was involved in a single-car accident after losing control of his Toyota and striking multiple objects before his car came to a stop.
Aiken, who was the first player in Rutgers history to be named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, was pronounced dead at Broward Medical Center.
The crash occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. and authorities are currently investigating the crash.

Aiken passed away after crashing his vehicle in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Police are investigating the cause of the crash which happened in the early hours of the morning on Friday, June 22.

Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alvaro Feola said Johnathan Aiken, 26, of Jacksonville, lost control of his Toyota. Feola said the car struck an overhead light pole, guardrail, flipped over and struck a palm tree before coming to a rest in the grassy shoulder.

Former teammates and coaches took to social media to express their shock by the tragic news. Aiken, who overcame tragedy as a child when his mother was gunned down by her boyfriend when he was just three years old, was known as a caring person and well-respected teammate.

Throughout his career at Rutgers, Aiken recorded 76 tackles, 2 sacks, one forced fumble, and two passes defensed.
