Saturday, June 9 marks the running of the 150th Belmont Stakes. It is the final leg of the Triple Crown with Justify, winner of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, aiming to become just the 13th horse to ever win the American Triple Crown. It would be the first-ever Triple Crown win for jockey Mike E. Smith, who will once again be on board the overwhelming favorite entering “The Test of the Champion.”
Justify was able to go wire to wire to bring home the Belmont Stakes on its historic Triple Crown run. Gronkowski, named after New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski finished in second, while the third-place finisher was Hofburg.
