Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconson, Ogunbowale was an athletic force even as a child, winning four straight Wisconsin State Cups in soccer as a teenager. During her age-17 season, Ogunbowale averaged 27.2 points per game and led Divine Savior Holy Angels High School to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division I title.
After averaging just over 11 points in a bench role during her freshman year, Ogunbowale became a starter during her sophomore season. For her junior season in 2017-2018, she averaged 20.3 points per game, alongside 5 rebounds and nearly 2 steals per game.
