In this day and age, if you have skeletons in your internet closet be prepared for them to get dragged out once you get thrust into the national spotlight. The latest victim of the internet is Villanova player Donte DiVincenzo. He had an incredible national championship game, scoring 31 points in a beatdown of the Michigan Wolverines. DiVincenzo was riding high; this was the best moment of his athletic career. But, that pesky, still undefeated internet allows no one to enjoy their day in the sun.
See, DiVincenzo has a Twitter account, and the people of the internet went to work and dug up some old not so eloquently articulated tweets from his past. In fact, they came off as slightly racist and homophobic. In the PC world of 2018 America, this tends to all but be a death sentence for people.

The poor guy has since deleted his Twitter account. It was the only move he had to play at the moment. I’ll never understand how these things keep happening to people. Does anyone learn from other people’s mistakes? Some quick advice from yours truly: If you are ever even remotely close to the national spotlight delete anything that could be considered racist, sexist, or homophobic. Simple stuff, guys.
