AMC will debut their latest twisty crime drama, McMafia, tonight at 10 PM ET. The series stars Grantchester’s James Norton as a Russian man living in London who rejected his family’s criminal ways in favor of starting his own business.
But anyone who’s seen The Godfather knows that the squeaky clean children of mob bosses rarely stay that way for long. Eventually, everything changes for James, and he has no choice but to join the criminal world.

The series originally premiered on January 1, 2018, in the UK (BBC One) to fairly positive reviews. It has an honorable 7.8 rating on IMDB, but a less than impress 64% on Rotten Tomatoes. It seems like the main beef people have with it is: there’s too much going on and it’s too slow. All that being said, if sex, murder, and international crime are your thing, McMafia definitely seems worth a watch.
