Since Everything Is Being Remade These Days, The Spice Girls Are Going On Tour This Summer

The Spice Girls are getting back together for a reunion tour that will take them across the UK and U.S. The announcement brought on waves of late 90’s nostalgia, and infinite cases of not being able to get “If You Wanna Be My Lover” out of your head. It’s happening to me right now so I’ve decided to pass my burden on to you. Sorry.

The tour schedule has not yet been released – just the announcement. This article will be updated once the 2018 Spice Girls Reunion schedule comes out.

Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie C met last week with their former manager, Simon Fuller. Sources connected to the women have said that the meeting was for “rough planning” of a world tour that is expected to kick off in late summer. Apparently, the group is expected to hit the stage in England first and then migrate over to the U.S. Contrary to previous reports, there is no plan for a Vegas residency or to record new music.

Simon Fuller, who made a lifetime’s worth of loot as the creator of “American Idol,” will manage the group during the tour. He certainly doesn’t need the money but says he’s organizing the tour because he enjoys working with the group.

For the longest time, it seemed like everyone but Victoria was down for a reunion. She’s now fully onboard and has attributed some of her change in motivation to the #MeToo movement. Beckham said that the mission of the Spice Girls was always to empower women. Now, in a timely fashion, the group will be able to hit the stage again in pursuit of a well-worthy mission.

It’s also been reported that they’re working on “merchandising opportunities” connected with the tour. Cue more flashbacks of Spice Girls headbands and endless tie-dye shirts. So… although the planning is still in the early stages, the girls are fully committed and the tour is going to happen.
