Amendola started a professional career by signing with the Dallas Cowboys on April 27, 2008. After his contract expired, he signed a contract with the practice squad of the Philadelphia Eagles on January 6, 2009. He was later resigned to the Eagles’ practice squad by the following September but eventually signed on to the St. Louis Rams on September 22, 2009, where he stayed with for five years.
