Gianis Antetokounmpo’s Net Worth As Of 2019: $20 million

In September of 2016 Antetokounmpo signed a four year $100 million contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks. With such great length and handles he has become a difficult player for teams to defend, while also being a great defender himself with the ability to guard all 5 positions. Although he had not reached his full potential at the time of his contract extension,it is clear the Bucks made the right decision in signing him long term.

Baby Giannis

Antetokounmpo was born in Athens, Greece which is where he went to school and eventually begin to play basketball. In 2009 he began playing competitively for the youth squad of Filathlitikos a Greek professional basketball club. Antetokounmpo would join the senior squad of Filathlitikos where he would average 9.5 points 5 rebounds and 1 block per game. The Milwaukee Bucks would go onto to select him with the 15th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

2013-2016

In a draft that was not highly anticipated, Antetokounmpo was one of the great unknowns a tall lanky kid from Greece with minimal experience. His first season he only started 23 of the 77 games he played and struggled to find his jump shot, only scoring 6.8 points per game. Antetokounmpo who was only 18 when he was drafted grew 2 inches after his rookie season. He would use that length to get to the basket more often which would lead to an increase in his scoring each of his next three seasons.

2017-Present

After having a great playoff series against the Toronto Raptors, expectations for Antetokounmpo have gotten higher. Over the summer the Black Mamba Kobe Bryant challenged Antetokounmpo to win Most Valuable Player this season. Although he has some stiff competition Antetokounmpo is on the right track as he is second in the league in scoring with 30 points a game. He has quickly become a fan favorite for Bucks fans but also for NBA fans across the globe.
