The Lake County Sheriffs office is investigating a shooting at Lake Minneola High school in Florida.
Deputies say one student was shot. So far we don’t know the extent of his injuries.
Right now the school is on lockdown. However, Deputies say there is no active shooter on campus.
Deputies believe the student’s gunshot wound was self-inflicted. According to police, the Lake Minneola High School student took his life this morning in the bus loop.
Lake Minneola High School and Grassy Lake Elementary School have been placed under lockdown, Lake County Schools said.
Several Lake County deputies have been seen blocking North Hancock Road, which is in front of the school. The deputies were carrying long guns, witnesses said.
Parents of students told Channel 9 that they saw an ambulance leaving the school with flashing lights and blaring sirens.
No other details are available.
Law enforcement officers are on the scene at LMHS and a crisis team, with grief counselors, is being dispatched to the school.
The victim has yet to be identified.
