After coming back from a 2-0 deficit against the Cleveland Indians in the ALDS, Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees head to Houston to take on the Astros in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series.
On the hill for the Yankees is Masahiro Tanaka, who pitched a gem against the Indians in the ALDS. In a topsy-turvy season for the righty, the Yankees got the dominant Tanaka when they needed him in Game 3 of the ALDS. Now he will test his mix of pitches on the road, where he was markedly worse (6.48 ERA to 3.22 at home) this season.
For Houston is former Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel. Keuchel tossed 5 2/3 innings against the Red Sox in ALDS Game 2, giving up one run on three hits, walking three and striking out seven in Houston’s 8-2 victory at Minute Maid Park. The left-hander has a 0.96 ERA in three career postseason starts.
