The first trailer for the much anticipated new Star Wars movie was released during the halftime show of tonight’s Monday Night Football game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Cubs. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to hit theaters on December 15, 2017, but you’ll be able to see a teaser for the movie tonight.

First, the official synopsis for Star Wars: The Last Jedi:

Luke Skywalker’s peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he meets Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force.

However, it appears that the director of The Last Jedi is advising fans to avoid tonight’s trailer if they “want to come in clean” and watch the film not knowing what will happen. Basically, he’s warning fans against the real dangers of a spoiler alert. Apparently, tonight’s trailer will reveal something truly significant.

After the trailer is revealed on ESPN during Monday Night Football, tickets for The Last Jedi will be going on sale. Back in 2015, tickets for the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens immediately went on sale after the trailer was revealed during a game between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. A surge of Star Wars fans bought tickets, as AMC sold out 1,000 screenings across the nation only 12 hours after tickets went on sale.
