The Meadows Has Officially Established Itself As The Best Music Festival On The East Coast

Despite only being around for a couple of years, The Meadows has quickly established itself as New York City’s premier music festival, as they have been able to pull in the biggest headliners in the world for its first two years.
With an easily accessible venue — Citi Field — and as diverse of a lineup that you’ll see at any festival across the country, The Meadows’ second year featured everything that a music and food lover could possibly want from a summer festival.
Similar to last year, The Meadows had the rap game on lock, with hip-hop legends such as Jay Z, Nas, and the Gorillaz, as well as up-and-comers such as Future (who brought out Nicki Minaj!) and Migos making appearances.

As for the rock fans out there, rock gods such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Weezer made appearances, as well as some of the younger guys like Foster The People or Two Door Cinema Club.

And you know electronic music was well-represented, too, as dubstep master Bassnectar crushed a set, too.

Our personal highlight was the Jay-Z performance. Not only did Hov play songs from 4:44, his newest album, but also went through the murderer’s row of his greatest hits. At some points during his set, the crowd was SO hyped that you could literally feel the ground shaking.
So whether you went The Meadows to see a rap icon like Jay-Z, for the culture of Migos, or because you wanted to headbang to some RHCP, The Meadows had something for everybody unlike any other show on the east coast.
You can bet we’re already counting down the days until next year.
