Sara D’Spain, a 38-year-old former Texas high school teacher, is being accused of having an improper relationship with a student, D’Spain allegedly allowed the unidentified student to feel her breasts while they kissed behind a local burger restaurant.
D’Spain, 38, was taken into custody by the Kerrville Police Department around 1:40 PM on Thursday, September 21. D’Spain was charged with one count of improper relationship between educator and student.
According to her arrest affidavit, D’Spain told authorities that she communicated with the student through Snapchat, often sending him explicit photographs.

Kerrville police said D’Spain’s arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into two instances of educators at the district having relationships with students. The second investigation continues. Last week, district officials announced D’Spain and the other teacher were placed on indefinite administrative leave after the accusations were revealed.
According to online State Board for Educator Certification records, D’Spain is certified to teach pre-kindergarten through 8th-grade students, and she is a certified English as a Second Language teacher as well.
Sexual relationships between educators and students are far from uncommon in Texas. In the 2016-2017 year alone, the Texas Education Agency has opened more than 300 such investigations.
D’Spain was booked into the Kerr County Jail on $35,000 bond and has since been released.
