Is there a more underrated actor right now than Jon Bernthal? Ever since The Walking Dead, the dude has been on an absolute tear up the Hollywood ranks. Just look at his catalog over the last couple of years:
Not a single bad movie on that list except for We Are Your Friends. You can call it a coincidence, but I can it Jon Bernthal being a scene stealer.
During this accession, Bernthal also found himself with a role in the Marvel Universe thanks to a genius stroke of casting as he was chosen to play Frank Castle, The Punisher, is season 2 of Daredevil.
His portrayal of Castle was such a widespread hit that Netflix decided to give him his own show, immediately greenlighting The Punisher. After churning out Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders, Netflix finally got around to making The Punisher, which is set to drop this fall.
And if the first trailer is any indication, it’s going to be Marvel’s darkest adaptation yet.
