This romance-comedy is really starting to heat up. We may see a reunion of the classic couple of Gretchen and Jimmy, or not. Last week, we learned that Jimmy is headed back to Los Angeles and sent Gretchen a text right before she was going to bang her old ex-boyfriend Ty. All Jimmy sent was the simple word, “Hey,” and now fans and critics (myself included) are speculating what’s going to happen next.
Both Jimmy and Gretchen haven’t been doing too well since the break-up. Gretchen hadn’t left her apartment for three months after her ex-boyfriend left her on a hill. But Gretchen has been lying to her friends, telling them she’s having fun in Europe. Meanwhile, Jimmy has been working as a handyman for neighbors and hasn’t checked his cellphone in three months. But shortly after he turned on his phone, he sent his ex a text.

Will Gretchen take back Jimmy after leaving her to descend into a state of self-pity and depression? Jimmy appears to be on a mission. He left his motor home behind, sold his BMW and gave the money to Burt, an elderly man he’s befriended. Jimmy is on a journey back to LA; he left behind the motor home retirement community in a California desert near Barstow, and is heading back to the city of angels, possibly to reunite with Gretchen.
