Adult Swim Took A Shot At ‘Game Of Thrones’ After This Weekend’s ‘Rick and Morty’

If you weren’t ripping the Game Of Thrones into Rick and Morty combo this past summer, then you were doing TV all wrong, as nothing wipes away the stress of an intense GoT episode like a Rick & Morty adventure.

And based on the end of this weekend’s Rick and Morty episode, you know that the show’s creators watch Thrones as well, as they aired an “in memoriam” title card for the Game Of Thrones.

Shots Fired!! final screencap on @adultswim after Rick and Morty 😂 #GameOfThrones

Well, not so fast.

Dan Harmon, the infamously sick mind behind Rick and Morty came out to assure everyone that the cheap shot had nothing to do with his show and everything to do with the channel it was airing on, Adult Swim.

We had nothing to do with that game of thrones bumper after last night's ep. We hadn't seen it, that was all @adultswim. We ❤️Thrones.

Stop writing think pieces about it, you maniacs. We are pro Ice and Fire.

Whoever’s idea it was to take a shot at the most successful show of all time clearly didn’t have their head on straight, as the backlash was loud and immediate.

We have a feeling Adult Swim won’t be taking any shot at HBO anytime soon.
