Steve Bannon recently got the boot from his role as chief strategist of the White House. Bannon was let go on April 5, but his departure was made official this Friday afternoon.
Bannon is well known for his former role of executive chair for Breitbart News, which he has called “the platform for the alt-right.” But before he dived head-first into political media, Bannon was a naval officer, an investment banker and vice president of Goldman Sachs.
The Virginia-born media executive left his post on Breitbart in August 2016 to join Donald Trump in his bid for president. Bannon became chief executive officer of Trump’s campaign. And when Donnie Freedom won the presidency, Bannon take up a job inside President Trump’s cabinet as the White House chief strategist.
