Iconic comedian Bill Cosby appeared in court once again today, regarding sexual assault allegations. Cosby has been accused by more than 50 women of either rape, sexual battery, drug-facilitated sexual assault, sexual misconduct and or child sexual abuse.
Juror were locked on whether or not Cosby’s actions constituted rape. According to the case, one victim Andrea Constand claims that Cosby drugged her and put his hand down her pants in 2004. She didn’t ask to have sexual relations with Cosby, but the comedian tells the court that his actions were consensual. Therefore, the jury is deadlocked, and the judge declared a mistrial.
“After 52 hours of deliberation, probably one of the most courageous acts I’ve ever seen, I’m compelled to grant a mistrial,” said Judge O’Neill to the courtroom teeming with people.
However, within minutes of the mistrial, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office declared that they will retry the case.
