Microsoft E3 2017: Project Scorpio, ‘Crackdown 3’ & More

Microsoft E3 2017

The E3 Press Conference promises many huge announcements and sneak previews from major software developers and gaming corporations.

Among the console giants appearing at E3 next week, Microsoft seems underwhelming from a birds-eye-view. Microsoft needs to create more of a splash onto the scene than with the unveiling of Project Scorpio, State of Decay and Crackdown, especially since Halo 4 isn’t getting much coverage.

Don’t count them out just yet though, as Microsoft filed a trademark for the title “Direct Reality,” earlier today, according to an independent tech news organization that exclusively follows Microsoft. The trademark also “references to video game software, software for holographic applications, and online game software” in the filing, but there’s no way to know exactly what it does. The purchase could have no impact on the E3 presentation, or it could be their secret weapon.

In any case, Project Scorpio will take the spotlight during the presentation, with mentions of its VR capabilities, new games and updated hardware being among some of the tantalizing new features.
