Halep became pro in 2008 and won three single titles and one doubles title on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Circuit. Each year it seems that she’s gotten better and better because as early as the 2010 season, she was ranked in the top 100. Followed by a Near-Top 50 season in 2011 and finally breaking through that Top 50 in the 2012 season.
2013-2014

In 2013 she won the WTA’s Most Improved Player of the Year while collecting six WTA titles along the way. Her hard work continued to pay dividends in 2014 when she got an endorsement deal with Adidas, entered into the Top 10 rankings, and even finished runner-up in the 2014 French Open against Maria Sharapova.
2015-2017

2015 saw more success for Halep as she won her first WTA Premier Mandatory title and reached the semi-finals of the US Open. 2016 she would get her second WTA Premier Mandatory title and was set to compete in the Summer Olympics until she decided to pull out due to concerns about the Zika virus. 2017 has so far been fruitful for her as well with yet another Premier Mandatory title and most recently winning her French Open Quarter-final matchup with Elina Svitolina on Wednesday, June 1st.
