Peter Sallis has died at the age of 96, his agents have announced.
Peter Sallis Cause of Death
According to Sallis’ agent, the actor died peacefully with his family by his side.
In a statement, Jonathan Altaras Associates said: “It is with sadness that we announce that our client Peter Sallis died peacefully, with his family by his side, at Denville Hall on Friday, 2 June.”

He is survived by his son Timothy Crispian Sallis, a British art director who has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Art Direction (Aliens, Driving Miss Daisy, Gladiator).
Career
Sallis was best known for voicing Wallace in the famous Wallace and Gromit cartoons and for his long-running role in Last of the Summer Wine.
Sallis portrayed Norman “Cleggy” Clegg in Last of the Summer Wine from its first episode in 1973 to the show’s conclusion in 2010. He was the only actor to appear in all 295 episodes of the sitcom.
