So I guess Donnie Freedom is going all in on this whole ‘f*ck science’ thing, huh?
First, he denies climate change and now he’s denying basic human health necessities such as exercise.
In an article published in the New Yorker last week titled “How Trump Could Get Fired,” author Evan Osnos said that “other than golf, he [Trump] considers exercise misguided, arguing that a person, like a battery, is born with a finite amount of energy.”
Now, mind you, this isn’t the first time that Donald’s been revealed to be anti-exercise. In the 2016 book Trump Revealed, authors Michael Kranish and Marc Fisher wrote the following:
After college, after Trump mostly gave up his personal athletic interests, he came to view time spent playing sports as time wasted. Trump believed the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted. So he didn’t work out. When he learned that John O’Donnell, one of his top casino executives, was training for an Ironman triathlon, he admonished him, “You are going to die young because of this.”
Is it possible that Trump is actually this stupid? Is it possible that not only does Trump not believe in the merits of exercise … but that he also believe’s it’s, like, harmful? Personally, no, I actually don’t think Trump is that stupid. The guy has made it too far in life to not be able to wrap his head around the basic benefits of exercise.
I think this is Trump beginning his 2020 campaign by pandering to the same fat, uneducated, misguided people that put him over the edge in 2016.
Now, before you’re all like, ‘Wow, Eric, that is a remarkably insensitive and stereotypical opinion,’ let me just say… I know. That’s a pretty hot take right there that could borderline get me in trouble, but I really don’t care. And you know why I don’t care? ‘Cause I have colorful maps to parade around to prove my point just like Trump does.
First, the map of the 2016 Electoral College (which has been reportedly framed and hung in the White House because Donald Trump has the sportsmanship of an eight-year-old):
Pretty familiar by now, no? Well, then let me point you to a similar map, one that plots out college degrees by county:
Hmmmmmmm. Sure looks shockingly similar, am I right? Of course, I’m right — it’s a f*cking map, the proof is right there in the pudding.
And finally, a map of obesity, by county:
Yupp — yet again the same areas seem to be highlighted.
So, am I saying that if you are fat and uneducated, that you were more likely to vote for Trump? No, I’m not saying that at all.
The data is saying it.
