Kendrex White has been identified as the student who went on a deadly stabbing spree at the University of Texas Monday afternoon.
White, a 21-year-old biology major who wanted to be a doctor, killed one person and seriously injured three others during a violent attack at UT Austin.
Harrison Brown has been identified as the student who lost his life. He died at the scene near the Austin university’s campus gym after allegedly being stabbed by White. White was then tackled to the ground by campus police shortly after he allegedly killed Brown and severely injured three other male students. The three other victims were hospitalized with serious injuries.
White’s motive remains unclear, however, hours before the attack, he is quoted as saying, “Human selfishness lives and breathes.”

University Police Chief David Carter described White’s weapon as a “Bowie-style” hunting knife and said that the stabbings occurred within a one-block area as the attacker “calmly walked around the plaza.”
Rachel Prichett, a UT Austin student, said she was waiting in line at a food truck when she saw White approach the person standing behind her.
“The guy was standing next to me,” Prichett said. “He grabbed him by the shoulder and shoved the knife in it. I just started running as fast as I could.”
Chief Carter said it would be “premature” to discuss White’s motive.
The student who was killed was identified by the Graham, Texas, school district on its Facebook page:
“The news of Harrison Brown’s (GHS Class of 2016) passing is heartbreaking There are no words adequate enough to express the sorrow felt by Graham ISD and the community of Graham for this loss. Harrison was an inspiration to everyone around him. We were Blessed and honored to have known him.
For Kurt and Lori Brown, John and Allie Brown and family, we pray the outpouring of sympathy, the kind acts of friends and strangers and the comfort in knowing that your loss is felt by many, will help you through this difficult time.
Counselors and youth ministers will be at the high school tomorrow and available for our students.”
A GoFundMe page was created to raise money for Brown’s family.
