The three-seed Houston Rockets successfully defended their home court, taking a 2-0 series lead over the six-seed Oklahoma City Thunder. Game 2 was much closer than Game 1, but the Rockets were thrilled to pull out a 115-111 victory after being down six points at halftime. A win is a win come playoff time.
MVP candidate James Harden carried the offensive load for the Rockets, as he finished with 35 points, four rebounds, and eight assists. Harden hit 7-of-17 from the floor, 3-of-7 from three-point range, and 18-of-20 from the free throw line.
For the Thunder, it was all about Russell Westbrook. The true MVP had a night for the record books, compiling a historically absurd triple-double with 51 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists. But he did take an unreal amount of shots to get there, as he went 17-of-43 from the floor, 2-of-11 from three-point range, and 15-of-18 from the free throw line.
