The eight-seed Chicago Bulls pulled off a massive upset in Game 1, beating the one-seed Celtics 106-102 in front of a raucous Boston crowd. But even though it’s always deflating to lose a Game 1 at home, history is still on the Celtics’ side.
Jimmy Butler was the hero for the Bulls on Easter Sunday, as he scored 30 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the floor while adding nine rebounds and three assists. 15 of Butler’s 30 points came in the fourth quarter, which is a pretty clutch way to score half of your points. Butler hit big shot after big shot down the stretch to lift the Bulls to victory.
Leading the way for the Celtics just like he has all season long was Isaiah Thomas. The point guard had a performance for the ages, scoring 33 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor, grabbing five rebounds, and dishing out six assists. It would have been a helluva night under any circumstances, but playing so well just a day after his sister passed away in a car accident was amazing. I can’t even imagine trying to play basketball after suffering such a heartbreaking tragedy.
Now that we’ve looked back at Game 1, let’s breakdown all of the different ways you can watch Game 2 of this first round Eastern Conference series.
