The undefeated Flanagan (32-0, 13 KOs) has been especially impressive over the last couple of years. Since knocking out Jose Zepeda in the second round of their July 11, 2015 bout to win the vacant WBO lightweight title, Flanagan has successfully defended his championship four times. In two of these title defenses, the Manchester, England native scored knockouts.

Petrov (38-4-2, 19 KOs) is from Russia, but he’s lived in Madrid, Spain ever since he moved there with his family when he was 12-years-old. This will be Petrov’s second opportunity to challenge for a world title, and he’s hoping that he’ll leave the ring with the belt around his waist this time around. On September 23, 2011, Petrov got knocked out by Marcos Maidana in the fourth round of their WBA (Regular) super-lightweight title bout.
