Ziad Ahmed, a Bangladeshi-American high school student, claims he was accepted into Stanford after writing #BlackLivesMatter 100 times for the essay portion of his application.
Ahmed, a student at the Princeton Day School in New Jersey, tweeted his acceptance, as well as proof of his essay. The essay question asked: ‘What matters to you, and why?’
Stanford University seemed thrilled by Ziad’s application, sending him this reply:
That’s not to say that Ahmed didn’t have a killer resume.
According to Mic, Ahmed has already worked on Hillary Clinton’s campaign and been invited to the White House during Obama’s administration. Furthermore, he has also spoken at Tedx conferences around the world about what it’s like being a Muslim in America.

“I was actually stunned when I opened the update and saw that I was admitted,” Ahmed said in an email. “I didn’t think I would get admitted to Stanford at all, but it’s quite refreshing to see that they view my unapologetic activism as an asset rather than a liability.”
Ahmed, who is unsure about which major to choose, was also accepted to Yale and Princeton. Ahmed says he is interested in international relations, cognitive science, economics, and comparative studies in race and ethnicity.
