Molly Qerim, ESPN Host
Qerim is half-Albanian and of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean descent. She was born in Cheshire, Connecticut, a small town that’s famous for its sports talent. Both Brian Leech and Brad Ausmus grew up in Cheshire. Small world, right?
She attended UConn as a major in communications and a minor in business administration. Naturally, the UConn Huskies basketball and football teams are still among her favorite teams to root for.
After graduation, she moved to Quinnipiac University where she earned her Master’s Degree in broadcast journalism. She joined ESPN in 2007 and began as the interactive host for College Football Live on ESPN and ESPN2. But it was Qerim’s work on Fantasy Football Now that earned her first Emmy Award for her work on the show. After that, ESPN realized what a gem they had and began to place her front and center at major sports events such as the Heisman Presentation, NBA Draft, NBA All-Star Game and the MLB All-Star Game.
Her true claim to fame no is as host of ESPN’s FirstTake.
