FX’s The Americans continues its fifth season tonight with episode #3, “The Midges.”
Last week saw Gabriel send Elizabeth to Illinois to investigate the American crops being sent to the Soviet Union. If that swarm of bugs was any indication, something may be very off with Russia’s limited food supply. Elsewhere, Paige continued to struggle with her family’s secrets, especially as her relationship with Stan’s son Matthew deepens. Speaking of Stan, he’s attempting to roadblock a CIA plan to squeeze Oleg for more information.
Basically, The Americans is performing the same high wire drama-fueled act it’s always done, only better.
