The UCLA Bruins are set to clash with the Cincinnati Bearcats tonight in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament. Only one of these teams can make to the Sweet 16 portion of March Madness. Who will make it to round three?
The Bearcats put away the Kansas City Wildcats in the first round of March Madness, with a score of 75-61. Troy Caupain was the Bearscats not-so-secret weapon, as he sunk 23 points and provided seven rebounds to help put away the Wildcats. Cincinnati has a very strong defensive squad, as they are number four in the league when it comes in scoring defense, only allowing an average of 60.5 point a night for the other team.
The Bruins are phenomenal when it comes to their offense, as they make an average of 90.6 points per game. On Friday night, their offensive side was in full force, as they broke through Kent State’s defense, amounting a 17-point lead in the first half. Even though, the Golden Flashes began to gain ground, they were handily defeated by the Bruins with a score of 97-80.
The last time the Bruins faced off against the Bearcats was on March 17, 2002. That game would go into double-overtime, but UCLA ultimately picked up the victory, with a score of 105-101.
